Well storm Emma hit and amongst the casualties was this beauty from Barmagachan House.
The house dates from the late 1700's and this beech tree must have been around almost from the time the house was built, the base was rotted out but it hung on until storm Emma and then decided that was enough and down it came.
The clear up job was extensive but the property owners got in touch before the tree surgeons came and we were able to work with them to salvage a lot of really useful timber for bowls, bowl nests and hollow forms.
We even managed to find an image of the tree before it came down!
The first products should arrive in about 3-4 months.
