I know, it seems to come round really quickly but its that time of the year again...the interclub competition and open day at Border Woodturners!
The venue as usual was the community centre in Brampton, the show was busy as usual and members of a number of clubs from the North of England, Scottish Borders and further afield seemed to be enjoying meeting up.
The competition was judged this year by Russell Gibbs, the Vice Chairman of the AWGB no less - just goes to show that with sufficient winter clothing and a properly prepared vehicle the AWGB can reach this far North ........ and without ski's!
The day was attended by Biven Machinery sales and of course no day would be complete without Martin Pidgen and all of the lovely bits of wood he brings along to tempt woodturners to part with cash.
There were all demonstrations all day and the event was ably hosted and staffed by Border Woodturners volunteers.
The competition was won by Northumbria Woodturners for the second year in a row, a point which was made several times by one or two of the members from Northumbria who attended.
All in all it was a very enjoyable day, pictures are below.
