Well the SIP mini lathe has proven to have some "reliability issues" and given its size it has pretty serious limitations when it comes to which projects can and can not be done on it.
So when an opportunity presented itself and a replacement was high on the list of priorities - a very big list indeed - we went for it!
Welcome to the family "Cilla" - a Record Power CL3 which has been upgraded to a CL4 by the addition of a variable speed drive kit.
The lathe arrived courtesy of Mick who was kind enough to pick it up on one of his many forays to the North East, it came with the outboard rest and a modern banjo which is much easier to adjust than the original one.
A whole bunch of the original bits and pieces were included and a chuck came with the lathe, I had assumed this was a RP chuck so was pretty surprised when this turned up.
This is a really nice lathe and will prove to be a good asset moving forwards!
Thanks to Stan and Mick !!
